UNESCO awards ALISON honourable mention in ICT in Education

Texuna Technologies are delighted to announce news from our partner company ALISON.
Recently ALISON was awarded an 'honourable mention in ICT in Education' by UNESCO in a competition between 49 participants across the globe.Significantly, Alison are different in that they are not a government sponsored or funded project. They are privately funded and provide free learning and education to hundreds of thousands of users in all walks of life.They are due to receive a diploma in from the King of Bahrain and the Director General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova in Paris on January 12th 2011.

Texunatech have a significant strategic investment in the company that owns the free learning site Alison.com.Texunatech in partnership in 2010 developed five interactive free learning modules for the Health and Safety Authority in Ireland. Texunatech provided the project management expertise and ALISON the development and pedagogical expertise to deliver a very high calibre product for the HSA.
ALISON provides free online multimedia courses for certification, the most popular being basic IT skills training. Almost 200 interactive multimedia courses for certification have been developed, providing a new world of online learning opportunities to improve employment flexibility and skills worldwide.
Some 500,000 people have been trained since 2007 using an innovative SEE, HEAR, and DO pedagogical approach. The system enables learners either to study individually or to be part of the over 300,000 people who study as part of groups managed by trainers/tutors in schools, colleges, workplaces and community groups
