Museum, Libraries and Archives Council
Museum, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) is the government’s agency for museums, galleries, libraries and archives aimed at delivering strategic leadership throughout the sector, in England and in each of its regions. MLA has commissioned Texunatech to deliver a data warehousing and reporting solution in order to maximise the value of accumulated data by making them instantly and conveniently available for analysis and assessment by MLA staff, the public and stakeholders.
MLA solution overview
The MLA reporting and analysis portal is built around the Soltex™ OLAP reporting engine. Portal visitors (public, MLA staff and stakeholders) can manipulate and interrogate data:
- Review and download available datasets subject to access rights, as not all datasets are available for disclosure;
- Investigate and export predefined reports on key performance indicators, participation stats and MLA sector presence and operations;
- Easily construct new reports via a visual OLAP reports building tool and share these with other users.
Key features
- Data warehouse and reporting solution enables MLA identify its success areas and targets reached as well as analyse and anticipate sector trends.
- Sets of predefined public reports automatically updated and filtered/categorised by region, year etc.
- Streamlined data upload facility allowing additional data to be added over time, without the need for database administrators.
- Visual OLAP engine for MLA staff to construct custom reports with no special skill and experience.
- MDX analysis tool for advanced users enabling them to investigate the data in ways not possible via a visual OLAP tool.
