New Workforce Data reporting tool launched
Texunatech have further developed the Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) reporting tool, available via Lifelong Learning UK’s Workforce Data Collection system, available to Further Education Colleges, Work Based Learning providers and Adult and Community Learning providers.
OLAP Reporting is an online analysis tool which helps learning providers who have submitted data to benchmark information about their own workforce against that of the sector. OLAP provides immediate benefits and helps employers to develop strategies for improvement. Employers may use OLAP reporting to:
- See how their own organisation compares to the further education sector as a whole;
- Provide evidence to support Ofsted inspections;
- Better monitor their organisation’s own Equality and Diversity data in order to comply with legislation;
- Collate evidence to demonstrate how their organisation is developing their own workforce in response to workforce reforms;
- Provide evidence to support ‘Investors in People’;
- Support their own self-regulation;
- Save new or pre-defined reports for review at a later date or for distribution within your organisation.
The following new enhancements have been developed to provide:
- Legacy datasets to allow trend on trend analyses;
- External Census data at Local Authority level for benchmarking your workforce against that of the local community;
- Access to own organisation’s unpublished data during the collection period;
- Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping functionality;
- Simple to use dashboard reporting.
The new tool has been well received in the sector:
“It has the potential to be a useful planning tool, which will enable colleges to analyse information at source and make comparisons at local, regional and national level. A positive step in the right direction for data collection.”
Evan Williams, Director of Employment and Professional Services, AoC National Office.
“As well as assisting providers with planning and benchmarking, the OLAP Reporting tool can provide valuable information to support our discussions with government about the importance of, and ways forward for, Adult Learning.”
Bob Powell, Chief Executive of HOLEX, the national network of local adult learning providers.
