Texunatech wins DCSF contract
The contract for development of EduBase data management system for the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) has been awarded to Texunatech. Under this contract Texunatech is to design, build and maintain a new version of EduBase database, and to provide reliable helpdesk services.
EduBase is the definitive source of essential data on around 65,000 of educational establishments in England and Wales. This database service is crucial data source for DCSF partner organisations and external users.
The new EduBase solution will be built around our tried and tested Soltex platform in order to:
- Integrate with existing DCSF data warehouse to receive and deliver data on agreed schedule;
- Improve data quality by means of extensive validation and data cleansing;
- Provide flexible web-based reporting and analysis instruments for better visualisation and data value;
- Adopt interoperability standards to allow third party ICT-systems to access EduBase;
- Publish and share EduBase data online on a free and/or paid basis (through online payments system).
The project is currently into specification development/prototyping stage.
