Compliance, Integration and Accessibility

The Soltex architecture has been developed according to e-Government Interoperability Standards. A key benefit of the Soltex platform is the ability to share information between sites and systems via XML. This not only aids greatly in the future proofing of the system, but also helps to promote the ideal of the seamless flow of information across government agencies or through corporate information channels and providing the essential prerequisites for joined-up and web-enabled data environment.

All Soltex components and the organisation itself are fully e-GIF compliant, this has been carried out in conjunction with the National Computing Centre. We demonstrate continuing commitment to enhance the platform’s processes and extend its coverage ensuring that both the core repository, and the solutions derived from it, are fully e-GIF compliant.

Integration

Soltex platform was initially developed to provide seamless integration with other systems and environments.

The Soltex Generic Data Object (GDO) makes the data model very transparent to system administrators and therefore solutions built on Soltex are in no way proprietary – they are based on the philosophy of open systems. In fact, with minor modifications to insert GDO ID columns in existing tables, the entire platform can be made to operate on top of any legacy database structure or application database.Illustration of e-GIF compliant Soltex interfaces

The Soltex platform architecture is installed and operational in a number of different customer sites (see Track Record and Clients for examples) and is a proven, robust and stable solution. Soltex promotes open standards and has fully utilised SOAP and web services to successfully support government agencies, stakeholders and partners to share data and further interoperability.

Soltex-based solutions are easily integrated into customers environments by:

Bulk imports and exports are easily performed in any format (XLS, XML, CSV, HTML, PDF etc.) configurable by through XML files.

Accessibility

An internal Accessibility Audit of all Soltex solutions deployed in the public sector has ensured that Soltex systems are all compliant to RNIB (See it Right standard) and W3C-WAI (up to AAA) usability standards. This is constantly reviewed and updated by Texunatech to ensure that client-specific implementations are up to AAA levels of accessibility wherever it is felt that this is important.
