On-line reporting
Standard on-line reports are quickly produced in a simple 5-click procedure: create new report, select columns, select rows, enter report name, save the report. Additional details, such as report view type, aggregation method and filters can be specified if required. Reports are displayed as tables or charts (pie, bar, line, radar graphs) and can be exported to Excel or other desktop applications.
OLAP reporting in Soltex-based solutions is often implemented on public analysis sites by organisations that seek to inform their stakeholders and visitors of key performance indicators, overall progress and other relevant data. In this case OLAP is commonly shaped as a suite of ad-hoc reports on predefined datasets, sometimes subject to access rights.
Another option of implementing OLAP is to place it at data management portal, where it can be accessed by authorized specialists. Such ‘internal’ OLAP applications are usually equipped with customised report query options to build elaborate reports on all datasets available from data warehouse.
