Track record
Soltex has been successfully implemented in a number of business applications across UK education, healthcare and corporate sectors. For a number of years, we have worked collaboratively with our clients on the development and management of their data collection systems. This has enabled Texunatech to establish a wealth of cross-cutting knowledge on these sectors and specific pros and cons of data management processes.
Following are some of our major Soltex-based projects we would like to share:
Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA)
Joint project undertaken by Texunatech and Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) that involved the delivery of a complex and multiple-phased project overhauling an outdated legacy system (people, process, technology). A new Soltex on-line data collection, validation, reporting and publication solution was realised. This solution collected, integrated, transformed, cleansed and published sensitive performance profiles, employment and inspection data from multiple large data feeds in various formats. Data providers supported by the Texunatech service desk included 250 Teacher Training institutions (processing some 200,000 trainee records every year) and several education sector government agencies.
This Soltex solution now supports around 20 distinct datasets, has expanded to 10 separate portals, reduced collection cycles by over 6 months, has been adapted and reused for several subsequent TDA projects and seen year-on-year improvements in system user uptake up, data quality improvements and process efficiencies.
This project was nominated and shortlisted for an E-Gov Technology award in 2005.
City and Hackney Primary Care Trust (PCT)
Soltex-based solution developed by Texunatech for City and Hackney PCT provides the Trust with centralised data repository for some 300,000 patient records, integrated with several data feeder systems and e-GIF compliant e-forms developed by Texunatech to submit data directly to the warehouse. The solution is also expanded with workflow and appointment booking system and OLAP reporting tool.
Lifelong Learning UK
Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) staff individualised records (SIR) data collection system solution is an online data collection, management and reporting solution that enables further education, work based learning and adult and community learning providers to submit and cleanse their annual staff data return. Data submissions are carried out via web forms and feed uploads from a variety of Human Resource software.
SIR sollection system is built around centralised data warehouse where imported legacy datasets are stored along with newly collected records. The solution incorporates a suite of Soltex-based modules for automated workflow, CRM, OLAP reporting and helpdesk.
The Museum, Libraries and Archives Council Partnership’s (MLAP)
UK Museum, Libraries and Archives Council Partnership’s Soltex data warehousing and reporting solution allows for the storage and analysis of dissimilar data collected regarding museum, libraries and archives across the UK.
The data repository stores both imported legacy data and supports the upload of newly collected datasets via the data management portal. The data analysis OLAP functionality allows a user to create reports via simple drag and drop features or to create more complex reports via MDX where any report measure can be defined.
The MLAP Soltex reporting and publication solution includes conclusive access management providing efficient security permissioning.
The North Dorset Primary Care Trust (PCT)
Working with the North Dorset PCT, Texunatech was able to implement a solution to automate data collection from five legacy systems with very low data quality, automatically validate and cleanse this data to meet rigorous requirements of the Department of Health statutory reporting.
This project combined a detailed analysis phase to understand the data requirements and complex technical implementation to provide the validation rules to capture and correct poor quality data. The solution was delivered in less than three months and under budget.
